Derek Jeter has decided to come out of retirement and continue his baseball career in Australia.
APRIL FOOLS!
On Thursday evening, the Adelaide Bite of the Australian Baseball League tweeted a photo of Derek Jeter holding up one of their jerseys. The team claimed that Jeter has signed on to be a player/coach for the upcoming season.

MASSIVE NEWS! @Yankees legend Derek Jeter has signed as a player/coach for the Bite for the 2016/17 @ABL season! pic.twitter.com/s2hjv4RJLk

Unfortunately for fans of the Bite, this was merely a cruel joke. Since April 1 came earlier for Australia than it did in the United States, it was well disguised here in America. The Yankees appreciated the humor:
@AdelaideBite @ABL good one

Jeter is a little too busy these days spending time with his beautiful fiancee, so it wouldn’t make much sense for him to revive his baseball career Down Under. It was a nice thought, however.
