Go crazy folks, go crazy! Bartolo Colon hits first career home run!
Bartolo Colon, notorious for being one of the worst hitting pitchers in baseball, did the unthinkable on Saturday and belted his first career home run.
The reaction from the Mets dugout was splendid. Colon enjoyed himself with the extra slow home run trot and the fans went nuts.
The best part may have been pulling a Jack Parkman and carrying his bat up the first base line:

That homer was no joke, either. Petco Park is not an easy park to homer in. And Bart did it.
Yes, at 42 years old (nearing 43), Colon hit his first career home run. That was just Colon’s 21st career hit in 227 at-bats. He only had two extra base hits prior to that — a pair of doubles.
You gotta love that sneaky smile he had on his face as he circled the bases. Big Sexy, getting that much closer to reaching his Silver Slugger bonus.
