A report about Bartolo Colon signing with the Detroit Tigers had everyone hyped up but ultimately appears to be incorrect.
The report stemmed from the Dominican Republic on Sunday evening and said the 46-year-old pitcher was close to agreeing to a deal with the Tigers.

MLB.com Tigers reporter Jason Beck shot down that report a day later, saying it was not true.
No, the Tigers are not signing Bartolo Colon. Source calls report out of Dominican "not true."

Colon spent last season with the Texas Rangers, going 7-12 with a 5.78 ERA in 28 games. As time has gone on, Colon has enjoyed folk hero status throughout baseball for a combination of his looks, age, and ability to still compete at the highest level, defying all reason. He’s also pretty funny and known for some good quotes.
In his 21-season career, Colon has gone 247-188 with a 4.12 ERA. He is a four-time All-Star and former Cy Young Award winner. He made his first All-Star team at 25 and his most recent at 43, showing his unusual career arc.
