Report: Braves have no current plans to call up Ronald Acuna
Top prospect Ronald Acuna will be waiting a bit longer for his MLB debut.
Despite this being the week in which players who are called up for the first time will see their free agency delayed a year, the Braves have no plans to call up Acuna, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
This is largely down to the fact that Acuna is hitting .152 in the minors, with just one extra base hit in eight games so far. Acuna could get hot and be in the majors by the end of the week, but for now, Atlanta has no concrete plans as to when he’ll come up.
Acuna was among the players who had a huge spring, and we’ll still probably see him this season. It’s just a question of how long we have to wait.
