Braves could be quiet contender for Craig Kimbrel
Could things be setting up for Craig Kimbrel to return to Atlanta? Some around MLB think that might be the case.
Fancred’s Jon Heyman said on Twitter Thursday that people suspect the Braves could make a play for Kimbrel. He mentions the Phillies, Nationals, Red Sox and Twins as other potential contenders.
Folks around the game suspect the Braves are lying in the weeds for superstar closer Craig Kimbrel. Other possibilities include Phillies, Nats, Red Sox, Twins, and of course, a mystery team.

There were multiple top relievers available this offseason, but the best one is still sitting there.
Kimbrel, 30, has posted at least 31 saves in every season since 2011. He has a career 1.92 ERA and career 0.92 WHIP. His asking price is likely what has led to a slow market, and the Braves seem to believe he is currently too expensive.
This is not the first time he’s been linked with his former team.
