The Milwaukee Brewers are headed back to the World Series for the first time in over four decades.
The Brewers completed a clean sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers during Thursday’s NLCS Game 4 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. The Fall Classic-bound visitors did it in the most Brewers way possible.
The Dodgers delivered an early-round haymaker in the second inning when Shohei Ohtani’s three-run homer off Dustin May gave the defending champions a 4-0 lead. It was an injection of life into both the struggling Ohtani and to his team as a whole, who looked ready to have people whispering about a possible comeback from down 0-3.
But Milwaukee, like it has all season, crawled back little by little. The Brewers finally got to Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow in the top of the 4th inning with back-to-back ground-rule doubles to drive in two runs.

David Hamilton knocked Glasnow out of the game in the next inning with an RBI single to chop the deficit to 4-3. Dodgers relievers Evan Phillips and Alex Vesia then walked three straight batters, allowing the tying run to stroll home.
Garrett Mitchell then put the Brewers ahead for good with a 6th-inning solo shot.

Hamilton came up big again in the top of the 9th, adding an insurance run via a homer off Edwin Diaz.

Bauers was named the NLCS MVP, becoming the first player in franchise history to be named MVP of a championship series. When the Brewers won the 1982 ALCS, opposing outfielder Fred Lynn won the MVP award.
The Dodgers entered the season as heavy favorites to win their third straight World Series. But the Brewers have been the best team in baseball for most of the 2026 campaign.
Milwaukee proved it on Thursday night as the World Series heads to Wisconsin.
