Brewers P Corbin Burnes matches unwanted record
Corbin Burnes tied a record on Friday night, but it’s not the sort of one he would want.
The Milwaukee Brewers starter surrendered three home runs for the third straight start, which matches a record, according to Baseball-Reference.com.

Burnes is a former fourth-round pick out of Saint Mary’s. He pitched in a relief role all last season and did well, going 7-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 38 innings. He’s working as a starter this season and having a tougher adjustment so far. Though his strikeout numbers are excellent, he’s been giving up too many runs. He allowed four in the opener, seven in his second start, and yielded five through the first four innings in his Friday start against the Dodgers. After giving up four homers in 38 innings last season, he had allowed nine in his first 14 innings of the season.
