The Milwaukee Brewers have made their team’s World Series visit to Tropicana Field a family affair. But not everyone was happy about it.
The Brewers took care of business against the Tampa Bay Rays in Games 1 and 2 of the Fall Classic, winning a pair of one-run games at home. With a World Series trophy within reach, Milwaukee reportedly chartered several planes to make sure the whole gang would be cheering on in St. Petersburg, Fla.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Brewers filled five planes bound for Tampa Bay with Brewers supporters. The guest list included not just the players and their families. The team also reportedly brought along “their entire front office staff” as well as every member of the Brewers’ scouting and development departments.
Kudos to the Milwaukee Brewers for sending five planes to Tampa Bay, bringing along not only their players and families, but their entire front office staff and scouting and development departments.

Some fans took the gesture at face value, praising the Brewers for bringing along everyone who supported the team’s journey to the World Series.
@BNightengale Five planes is a class move. Hate saying it as a Cards fan but Milwaukee does it right.

Others saw things differently. Several fans called the Brewers out for spending money to charter jets after charging sky-high ticket prices for the previous two World Series games at American Family Field.
@BNightengale I’m a fan, but for what they charged for tickets at home, they could afford to bring every one of those ticket holders, too.

@BNightengale @SamKuffelWx They have a “few” dollars left over from the World Series ticket sales.

@BNightengale When you charge $3000 a ticket to a World Series game you have money to do nice things like this….but these players are millionaires how bout making the actual games more affordable for the fans???!

While regular-season tickets to see the Brewers at home were generally affordable, the get-in price for Milwaukee’s first two World Series home games soared to thousands of dollars.
Tickets on the secondary market were said to be hovering around $3,000, making it cheaper to actually book a flight to Tampa and buy tickets for the games at Tropicana Field. It’s no wonder some fans were salty.
