Brewers reportedly showing interest in pitcher Alex Cobb
The Chicago Cubs have been viewed as a favorite to sign Alex Cobb, but they may have some competition from a team within their division.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported on Sunday that the Milwaukee Brewers have been in touch with Cobb’s representatives.
#Brewers and Alex Cobb’s representatives have been in touch recently, source says. Division rival #Cubs viewed as one favorite to sign Cobb, in part because of connection to new pitching coach Jim Hickey. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Cobb, 30, went 12-10 with a 3.66 ERA for the Tampa Bay Rays last season. He turned down a qualifying offer, meaning he is likely seeking more than $17 million per season.
Cobb has a career 3.50 ERA and 1.22 WHIP pitching in the AL East, which should entice many suitors.
