Brian Giles’ Ex-Girlfriend Cheri Olvera Engaged to Chuck Knoblauch
Talk about a strange MLB love triangle … Brian Giles‘ ex-girlfriend Cheri Olvera is now engaged to former Twins and Yankees second baseman Chuck Knoblauch. Giles is a former two-time All-Star who had four straight godly seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The San Diego native dated Olvera from 2002-2008 and the two were engaged but never got married.
Olvera is suing Giles for breach of an oral and/or implied agreement she says the two had while they were together that they would divide their property if their relationship were to dissolve. Olvera is also seeking damages for domestic violence she alleges took place while they were together.
The crazy twist is that the ballplayer-chasing Olvera has found a new man.
She and Chuck Knoblauch are now engaged. Making matters more complicated is that Knoblauch pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault last year for choking his former common-law wife, but that obviously isn’t a concern for Cheri.
Between Giles and Knoblauch, Olvera has bagged six seasons of All-Star appearances. That’s OK — Kimberly Bell has her beat by eight on only one man.
