Bruce Bochy will not accompany his San Francisco Giants to Kansas City for a series with the Royals as he is recovering from a heart procedure he underwent on Tuesday, the team announced.
The procedure is considered minor and intended to alleviate discomfort related to an irregular heart beat.

Bench coach Ron Wotus will serve as manager for the Giants’ two games against the Royals.
Bochy has had heart problems in the past. He was hospitalized in Miami last season with an irregular heartbeat. He also had a procedure done in spring training two years ago.
