Bryce Harper says he feels bad for struggling Matt Harvey
This must be rock bottom for Matt Harvey.
After giving up 9 runs in 2.2 innings against the Washington Nationals on Thursday night, Harvey took his league-leading sixth loss and saw his ERA balloon to 5.77. The man who once intimidated opposing hitters is now getting booed at home, thus inspiring a different emotion from at least one star opponent: sympathy.

It’s been a long fall for Harvey. Last October, Citi Field chanted his name during the World Series, and now he’s getting booed off the mound with the team considering skipping his next start.
Harper and Harvey come from the same baseball generation and clearly have a lot of respect for each other. Bryce’s comments are unlikely to provide much consolation for Harvey, but hey, you take all the support you can get, right?
