Just how much strength and power does Bryce Harper have? Enough to hit a home run despite breaking his bat.
Harper went yard in his first at-bat against the New York Mets on Monday night. Jacob deGrom tried to jam him inside and was able to break Harper’s bat around the handle, but Harper still got enough of the pitch to send it into the bullpen for a dinger.

Harper is now up to eight home runs this season, which means almost any time he touches the ball it goes over the fence. Or at least after watching that display, that’s how it seems.
The Washington Nationals slugger easily leads the majors in home runs … and broken bat homers.
