Bryce Harper has high praise for new manager Dave Martinez
Bryce Harper appears to be a fan of his new manager.
On Saturday, after Anthony Rendon was controversially ejected from the Washington Nationals’ game against the New York Mets, Nationals manager Dave Martinez got himself ejected in an impassioned defense of Rendon.
The Nationals ended up losing the game, but Harper quite appreciated how his first-year manager went to bat for the team.
Strong words from Harper about Martinez's effort:
"Awesome. That's what it's all about…I was talking to my dad yesterday, and he's a manager that you want to fight for, you want to win for and just the little things he does that makes you want to run through a wall for him."— Chelsea Janes (@chelsea_janes) April 7, 2018
The Nationals have lost four in a row after a 4-0 start, but between fun things like this and his motivational abilities, Martinez seems to have the team headed in the right direction. As long as Harper likes him, he’ll be in good shape.
