At a time when so many people are saying baseball is dying, Buck Showalter is here to remind us of how great the state of the game is.
Showalter, the Baltimore Orioles manager, narrates this fantastic commercial that has been playing throughout the start of the season. It features stars of the game like David Price, Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, Felix Hernandez, Giancarlo Stanton, Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, Carlos Gomez and Yasiel Puig.
“These are the best 750 players in the world. That the world has to offer,” Showalter says. “The game’s being played better than it ever has in the history of it. These are the good ol’ days. They are.”
There isn’t much to add because the commercial says so much in just 60 seconds. It is sure to give baseball fans everywhere some chills.
Dang do I love baseball. It’s great to have it back.
