Cardinals reportedly showing interest in Jarrod Dyson
The St. Louis Cardinals continue to search far and wide in their efforts to nab themselves a center fielder.
According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports on Monday, the Cardinals are showing interest in Kansas City Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson, who may prove to be a more cost-effective option than teammate Lorenzo Cain, another reported St. Louis target.
Among CFers in whom #STLCards are expressing interest, per sources: #Royals’ Jarrod Dyson. Potential FA, lower acquisition cost than Cain.

The 29-year-old Dyson batted .278 with one home run, 25 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases in 107 appearances for Kansas City last season. He is entering his third year of arbitration eligibility in 2017.
Though he has made a name for himself as a speedster and a high-level defender, Dyson isn’t much of a factor at the plate and might be a lackluster acquisition relative to some of the other names the Cardinals have been linked to recently. But in the interest of saving dollars, perhaps a walk down Dyson Drive wouldn’t be all that bad for the St. Louis enterprise.
