Cardinals reportedly looking at Craig Kimbrel, other closers
The St. Louis Cardinals will be looking to improve in many areas this winter after they finished with 88 wins and missed the playoffs this season, and it sounds like they are willing to spend big on a closer.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Cardinals have interest in Craig Kimbrel and other closers.

St. Louis shuffled through several different closers this season, so it makes sense that they want to bring some stability to the bullpen. Kimbrel will almost certainly be looking to become the highest-paid reliever on the market, which means he will be seeking somewhere in the range of $16 or $17 million.
The Boston Red Sox are said to have interest in keeping Kimbrel, but they may want to spend money elsewhere after the right-hander had several shaky outings in the playoffs. Still, he has 333 career saves and is one of the best closers of all time. The Cardinals could do a lot worse, but they need to decide if they want to commit that much money to their 9th inning.
