Chipper Jones rescues Freddie Freeman from Atlanta snow
The city of Atlanta has practically come to a stop in the wake of a small amount of snow falling over the area on Tuesday. The southern part of the country is experiencing unusually cold temperatures, and over the past 24 hours we have seen car accidents, cars stuck at the bottom of hills, gridlocked traffic and mass chaos. Chipper Jones was not afraid.
On Tuesday night, Jones’ former Atlanta Braves teammate Freddie Freeman tweeted that he had been stuck in Atlanta traffic for hours.
Going on 5 and a half hours in this traffic! Atlanta traffic is the worst but then you add snow…woah!!

A few hours after Freeman sent the tweets, Chipper’s girlfriend Taylor Higgins tweeted that Jones was running rescue missions and was headed off to get Freeman.
I'm thinking abt sending @RealCJ10 on rescue runs..any takers? Rescuing @FreddieFreeman5 now… pic.twitter.com/WjFuT8qyBV

Guess what?? It's really cold on the streets of Roswell and crabapple on a 4 wheeler! But my boy @FreddieFreeman5 was stranded. I got you!

Chipper was able to pick up his friend and bring him to safety. Freeman said it ended up taking him 11 hours to get home, but who knows how long it would have been if his four-wheeling friend didn’t brave the elements.
Thank goodness for @RealCJ10 ! Saved me on a 4 wheeler! pic.twitter.com/ljXDEULJC9

A moment I'll never forget! ;)“@RealCJ10: He hugged me the whole way home!”

As someone who grew up in the northeast, I’m amazed that there has been such chaos over what we would consider a “dusting” of snow. The Atlanta Hawks-Detroit Pistons game has been postponed and traffic is still reportedly insane. I guess when you have no way of preparing for this type of thing, people instantly go into full panic mode.
