Cody Bellinger apparently did not see the Boston Red Sox as much of a threat this week.
Bellinger and the New York Yankees defeated the Red Sox on Thursday by a final score of 4-2 at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass. That secured a three-game sweep by the Yankees of the hated rival Red Sox.
In the ninth inning of Thursday’s game, the Yankees outfielder Bellinger was seen pulling a disrespectful move on the Red Sox while in left field. With two outs and Boston’s Willson Contreras up at the plate, Bellinger began twirling his glove around on his finger in the middle of the at-bat.

Contreras would go on to ground out just three pitches later to end the game. Thus, Bellinger indeed ended up not having to do very much there in the outfield.
While that was a pretty ruthless move by the former NL MVP Bellinger, Boston only had themselves to blame there. Getting outscored in the series 12-3 by the Yankees, the Red Sox should have put up more of a fight if they wanted to be taken more seriously. Even Boston’s own fans would probably agree that their 9-16 team deserves all the clowning right now.
