Report: Cole Hamels could be out through April
One of the Atlanta Braves’ key offseason acquisitions may not be on the mound for a while due to an injury.
Cole Hamels, who has been dealing with left shoulder irritation, still has no timetable to begin throwing. He’s likely to miss Opening Day, and possibly more than that.
Snitker said Hamels has been re-evaluated but there still isn't any indication when he'll be cleared to begin throwing again. Seems safe to expect the lefty to miss all of April.

The Braves are paying Hamels $18 million to anchor their rotation this year, but that’s off to a bad start. Hamels hasn’t thrown since arriving in camp, and it doesn’t sound like he’s close to doing so.
Hamels has had a hard time staying healthy the last two years. Last season he was limited to 27 starts, posting a 3.81 ERA in them.
