Dallas Keuchel after striking out Delino DeShields: “Sit down!” (Video)

Houston Astros ace Dallas Keuchel is carrying himself with a bit of extra braggadocio these days.

Just five days after starting the 2015 All-Star Game for the American League, the 27-year-old lefty picked up right where he left off with an exquisite outing on Sunday against Texas. Kid Keuchy blanked the Rangers over seven dominant innings, allowing just two hits and walking none as the Astros took the series finale by the final of 10-0. Keuchel also recording a whopping 13 strikeouts, the most by an Astros pitcher since 2011.

After one of those Ks, a looking punchout of Delino DeShields Jr. in the top of the sixth inning, Keuchel added a little flair. When home plate umpire Will Little rung DeShields up on the 3-2 pitch at the knees, DeShields began walking towards first base in protest, prompting Keuchel to yell at him, “Sit down!!”

After the benches cleared following an altercation between Hank Conger and Rougned Odor Saturday, Keuchel made sure to keep the newly-revitalized Astros-Rangers rivalry thermal on Sunday.

With 12 wins, a 2.12 ERA, and 0.97 WHIP on the season (all AL-leading marks), Keuchel is definitely backing up his smack talk as well, once again proving that he’s not a guy to mess with.

Fear the Beard.
