Dan Uggla was born in Kentucky, plays for the Atlanta Braves and began his MLB career with the Florida Marlins. It is unclear why he would feel so strongly about the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, but the shirt he was wearing showed that the second baseman was rooting for the birds.
Two readers sent Crossing Broad the photo you see above and noted that Uggla was in Port Richmond over the weekend. Uggla and former Eagles cheerleader Janette Repsch recently tied the knot, so that could help explain his loyalty to Philly and hatred for the Cowboys. In any event, I’m sure the slugger is now the favorite Atlanta Brave of Eagles fans nationwide.
