Dave Roberts did not appreciate one question he received after Game 3
The Los Angeles Dodgers have gone up 3-0 in the World Series against the New York Yankees, and Dave Roberts knows better than anyone that it’s not yet a time to celebrate.
Roberts’ Dodgers beat the Yankees 4-2 in Game 3 of the World Series Monday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. Roberts answered questions from the media after the win that put his team up 3-0 in the series.
One reporter brought back memories of Roberts’ 2004 Boston Red Sox, who became the first team to ever come back from down 3-0 in a playoff series. They did it against the Yankees in the ALCS and went on to win the World Series 4-0 against the Cardinals.
“Dave, you’re one of the few people on Earth who know what it’s like to come back from a 3-0 deficit,” the reporter began.
“Don’t talk about that,” Roberts interrupted, with a grin. “Wrong guy. Way too early.”
"There's just got to be urgency. I just don't want to let these guys up for air."

Roberts said he didn’t want to divulge any secrets about how to come back when down 3-0. But being up 3-0, he said his Dodgers have got to “stay focused” and “stay urgent.”
“There’s just got to be urgency. I don’t want to let these guys up for air,” Roberts added.
The Dodgers are looking to win their first World Series since the shortened 2020 season. This would be their first full-season championship since 1988. Roberts isn’t about to start celebrating yet.
