David Aardsma mocks Jose Valverde after blown save
Yankees relief pitcher David Aardsma missed most of the season recovering from elbow surgery, but he didn’t miss a chance to mock Tigers closer Jose Valverde after Detroit blew a 3-1 lead during Game 4 of the ALDS against the Oakland A’s on Wednesday.
Aardsma wrote the following message on his Twitter account shortly after the Tigers lost 4-3:
So does Valverde jump around and do all his antics when he blows a save? #sotiredGreat finish

Valverde’s final stat line for the night: 0.2 innings, four hits, three earned runs, a blown save, a loss, and one zinger.
And one question: Why didn’t Tigers manager Jim Leyland replace Valverde after he allowed three hard-hit balls to start the inning?
