Report: Dee Gordon’s ankle issue not severe
The Seattle Mariners got an injury scare Thursday night, but it doesn’t look like a long-term problem.
Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon turned his ankle and needed to be helped off the field during the ninth inning of Thursday’s loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, but it does not appear that the injury is as serious as it looked at the time.
Good news for Mariners: Dee Gordon's ankle injury is not expected to be a long-term issue and he might not miss much time at all, though they'll need to see how he is when he gets to park today before making any determinations.

That’s a relief to the Mariners, who need all the help they can get. They’ve lost three in a row and have fallen behind Oakland for the second AL wild card spot.
Gordon is hitting .288 with a league-leading 26 stolen bases. He’s been so effective for the Mariners that he’s probably going to displace a former All-Star once the latter returns.
