Derek Jeter’s final home game at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night was loaded with moments that are straight out of a Hollywood film script. One of the best was his little nephew tipping his cap just like Jeter taught him after the game was over.
After Jeter lifted the Yankees to a dramatic win over the Orioles with a walk-off single in the ninth inning, cameras spotted his young nephew in the stands watching the commotion on the field. At one point, the little guy tipped his cap and looked exactly like a veteran ballplayer.
Even if you were tired of Jeter’s farewell tour this season, you had to enjoy the way his last game at Yankee Stadium played out. And if you’re a hardcore Jeter hater and you didn’t even appreciate that, you have to respect his nephew.
