Diamondbacks manager blames media for hyping up Opening Day
There was a lot of attention on Opening Day for the newly retooled Arizona Diamondbacks, and manager Chip Hale apparently didn’t appreciate it.
Perhaps he was just sour because the Diamondbacks lost 10-5 to the Colorado Rockies, but Hale hit out at the media, seemingly for overhyping the first game of the season.

I don’t get it. Opening Day is exciting for fans, and the Diamondbacks have made a big show about improving over the offseason. Sure, the game itself counts in the standings the same as every other, but it’s exciting for the fans. If Hale can’t handle that attention and excitement and interest, perhaps he should try another line of work.
