Dave Roberts: Dodgers have not discussed demoting Cody Bellinger
The Los Angeles Dodgers are dealing with all sorts of problems, but one remedy they’re not looking at is demoting Cody Bellinger.
Last year’s NL Rookie of the Year is hitting just .226 with eight home runs, but manager Dave Roberts said that sending him to the minors isn’t on the agenda.
Cody Bellinger is sitting on the bench today against a right-handed pitcher. Dave Roberts described this season as “tough sledding” for Bellinger but said the team has not broached the topic of demoting him to OKC yet.

Even if demotion isn’t on the menu, it’s hard to blame the Dodgers for being frustrated with their young first baseman. It doesn’t help that they’ve had to talk to him about hustle plays more than once this season either.
