Dodgers free agent says he wants to return to team
One of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ most consistent hitters is hoping to return to the team for 2025.
Teoscar Hernandez signed a 1-year, $23.5 million deal with the Dodgers in January. Hernandez went on to bat .272 with an .840 OPS, including 32 doubles and 33 home runs. He also made the All-Star team for the second time in his career.
The season couldn’t have really gone better for Hernandez, who also won his first World Series.
After his Dodgers won Game 5 against the New York Yankees on Wednesday night to capture the championship, Hernandez said he wanted to return to the team in 2025.
Hernandez made his comments during a postgame interview with ESPN Deportes.
“The Dodgers will be my priority in free agency. I will do whatever is possible to return. It’s not in my hands, but if it were I’d pick them,” Hernandez said in Spanish.

Hernandez said that if it were up to him, he’d choose to return to the Dodgers. But the team has to be party to that decision and make it happen.
Given the way the 32-year-old outfielder played in 2024, you probably wouldn’t find too many Dodgers fans who wouldn’t want to have Hernandez back.
