Dave Roberts: Dodgers ‘leaning toward’ placing Adrian Gonzalez on DL

Adrian Gonzalez may be headed to the disabled list for the first time in his career.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told MLB Network Radio that the team is “leaning towards” putting their first baseman on the disabled list, opening the door for hotshot rookie Cody Bellinger to stay with the team.
Roberts says #Dodgers are "leaning towards putting (Gonzalez) on the DL, not officially but I think that's where we're going to go"

Roberts "with Adrian potentially on the DL, it will give (Bellinger) a chance to be out there essentially every day at 1B" #Dodgers

Gonzalez dealt with elbow issues before the season and is now battling forearm and back problems. He’s hitting .255 this season and has yet to homer, and you have to think these nagging injuries have been a factor in his lack of production. Bellinger, meanwhile, has come up to hit .303 with two home runs in his first nine games. The Dodgers had to find a way to keep him on the roster, and this will make that happen.
