Dodgers pitcher has shady social media post after skipping White House visit

One Los Angeles Dodgers player was more than happy to let people know that he skipped the team’s White House visit this week.

Dodgers reliever Brusdar Graterol was notably absent as the team visited President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday in honor of their 2024 World Series title. In a post to his Instagram Story later in the day, Graterol made clear that he passed on the visit intentionally.

Graterol posted a selfie with his daughter at home and used some wordplay in his caption, writing “in my brown house” (along with a heart-face emoji).

The 26-year-old Graterol, who is of Venezuelan descent, is currently on the 60-day injured list due to a shoulder injury. But he played a role in both of the Dodgers’ recent World Series titles in 2020 and 2024. Graterol posted a 2.45 ERA for the team last regular season and also made three appearances during the World Series against the New York Yankees, giving up one earned run in 2.1 total innings of work.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dodgers did not have a chance to visit the White House when they won it all in 2020. But now that the opportunity arose after their 2024 World Series title, Graterol was pleased to miss out.

Without Graterol at the White House on Monday, the Dodgers still managed to have a memorable time. Shohei Ohtani got a noteworthy compliment from President Trump during the festivities, and Mookie Betts (who once skipped on a previous opportunity to visit Trump at the White House) was present with the team as well.
