Enrique Hernandez, Gavin Lux do unusual HR celebration during NLDS Game 5

Enrique Hernandez and Gavin Lux celebrating a homer

Enrique Hernandez and Gavin Lux were apparently really happy about taking an early lead in Game 5 of the NLDS.

The Los Angeles Dodgers veteran Hernandez opened the scoring in Friday’s winner-take-all contest against the San Diego Padres. He ambushed a Yu Darvish fastball on the first pitch of his second-inning at-bat for a solo homer to left field, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 advantage.

What drew even more attention though was the celebration that Hernandez did with his teammate Lux, who was next up to bat. The two Dodgers marked the occasion with an emphatic [checks notes] crotch bump.

Here is the video.

A different angle of the celebration showed that Lux was the one who first initiated things there.

It is unclear if that was a planned celebration between the two or just something that happened in the spur of the moment. But Hernandez and Lux will probably be better off retiring that one if the Dodgers advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Hernandez is no stranger to hitting big home runs in the postseason, which he has been doing for so many years now. But the 33-year-old utilityman definitely caught everyone off-guard with that … enthusiastic celebration with Lux after his latest home run.
