Former Major Leaguer Eric Byrnes is now an analyst for MLB Network, and regular viewers know him for his energetic and enthusiastic analysis. On Saturday night, he was at it again.
Byrnes was tackling the subject of the Dodgers’ Chase Utley’s controversial slide that broke Ruben Tejada’s fibula. As usual, his demonstration on the studio’s mock infield was something.

It’s one thing to analyze the slide, it’s another to live it. Byrnes takes out the cardboard standee with ruthless efficiency and a well-placed kick to the knee. It’s good to see he hasn’t lost the intensity in retirement.
