ESPN shares preview of Christian Yelich ‘Body Issue’ photos

Christian Yelich

ESPN shared a preview of Christian Yelich’s photo shoot for the “Body Issue” on Monday night.

Yelich’s Milwaukee Brewers were facing the St. Louis Cardinals on ESPN, which led the network to share a couple of photos during the game.

The reigning NL MVP is one of 21 athletes who were photographed by the magazine for its annual edition. He is the only baseball player to be featured in the spread, which comes out online on Sept. 4 and in the magazine on Sept. 6.

Yelich talked on Monday about the shoot and said he loved it.

“They did some really cool things,” Yelich said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I had a great time.

“They asked me if I wanted to do it. Somebody brought it up as a possibility in the offseason and I kind of forgot about it. Then, it came back up at some point. Hey, ‘You can do it if you want to.’ I took a few days to think about it and I talked to my buddies about it. I decided to go through with it and I’m actually really happy that I did.”

According to the Journal Sentinel, the shoot took place at a Milwaukee warehouse in July.

“It’s probably my favorite shoot I’ve ever done. I had that good of a time. It was really fun. It was probably 20-25 people on the set,” said Yelich.

He seems to be proud of it based on his Twitter reaction:

Yelich is the first Milwaukee Brewers player to pose for the Body Issue since Prince Fielder, who ended up the subject of some truly hilarious Photoshops.
