JD Martinez is one of the big bats available on the free agent market. If you go based on the odds, there is a two-team race for him.
Bodog has marked down six teams as possibilities for Martinez. The Toronto Blue Jays are favored to sign him at -105. The San Francisco Giants are next at even money. Then there are four teams listed as not as likely to sign him: the New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Here are the odds:

Toronto Blue Jays -105
San Francisco Giants EVEN
New York Mets +600
Milwaukee Brewers +950
Arizona Diamondbacks +950
Los Angeles Dodgers +1500
Martinez is coming off a big season with the Dodgers. He batted .271 with a .572 slugging percentage and .893 OPS last season. He slugged 27 doubles and his 33 home runs were his most since 2019.
Martinez is capable of playing the outfield but has primarily served as a designated hitter the last six seasons. The Blue Jays already have plenty of power in their lineup, so Martinez would just make them more stacked. The Giants could really use Martinez’s stick after trading Mitch Haniger to Seattle.
