Fernando Tatis Sr says son Elijah has better tools than Fernando Jr
San Diego Padres rookie Fernando Tatis Jr is lighting the baseball world on fire, but his young brother may have an even brighter future ahead.
Speaking recently with Cardinals broadcaster Polo Ascensio, father Fernando Sr said that his younger son Elijah has the better tools of the two. Fernando Sr called Elijah a natural and said he is better than Fernando Jr was at his age.
Had a nice chat with Tatis Sr recently in STL. He told me Elijah is a natural, one day he decided to pick up baseball and did, he has better tools than Tatis Jr. While Fernando works harder to get better, Elijah plays better at this age than Jr did. https://t.co/dbwzKlhSnj

The 20-year-old Fernando Jr has already more than made a name for himself in his first MLB season, clubbing .337 with a 1.026 OPS to go along with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs in just 49 games. Those numbers have put him in some elite all-time company.
Meanwhile, Elijah is a 17-year-old shortstop (the same position as Fernando Jr) and was just signed by the Chicago White Sox as an international free agent. He has a long way to go to catch his older brother, but his father apparently thinks that he can do it.
