Free agent pitcher Tim Byrdak writes hilarious open letter to MLB general managers

Tim-Byrdak-BowlingThe New York Mets are scheduled to hold their first full-squad workout of spring training this coming Friday. Pitchers and catchers, however, were due to report last Saturday.

Veteran relief pitcher Tim Byrdak, who spent the past three years with the Mets, isn’t among those at the club’s facilities in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Shoulder surgery limited Byrdak to just eight appearances in 2013 and the 40-year old is now without a team as Major League Baseball’s opening day nears.

Like many of us, Byrdak has been keeping an eye on the Olympics. He’s even been practicing the one-man luge. But the one-time member of the Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, and Houston Astros still has ambitions of making a major league roster for upcoming season. With that in mind Byrdak put pen to paper.

If Tim Byrdak does receive an invite from a team to spring training we can only hope for another moment similar to this.
