Report: Giants, Brewers have had ‘preliminary talks’ about Ryan Braun trade
The San Francisco Giants are reportedly looking far and wide for outfield help, and it may even take them to a surprising target.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Giants and Milwaukee Brewers have spoken about a potential trade involving outfielder Ryan Braun.
The #SFGiants are looking everywhere for another OF, and have had preliminary talks with #Brewers about Ryan Braun, but nothing imminent.

A deal does not sound close, and at the moment it sounds like little more than preliminary chatter and teams putting out feelers.
The 32-year-old outfielder is having a fine season, hitting .316 with 11 home runs in 52 games. He’s still owed $100 million through 2020, so it would be a big commitment financially to bring him in. Milwaukee would likely have to kick in some money.
Of course, money is only one issue in a Braun deal. The Giants would be acquiring a controversial figure to say the least.
