Ron Wotus somehow managed to get ejected from a game that had not even started yet.
The San Francisco Giants third base coach Wotus was tossed on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks … before the first pitch. Wotus got into it with third base umpire Alan Porter during the lineup card exchange at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif. and was promptly thrown out.
Here is the video of the bizarre incident.

For context, Porter was behind home plate for the previous night’s game between the Giants and Dbacks. Arizona won by a final score of 10-6, but Porter’s evening was marred by a number of missed ball-strike calls (several of which were overturned by ABS).
Umpire Alan Porter called the worst game of the day.

He missed 21 calls in the Giants Diamondbacks game including 18 in the first 5 innings.

Wotus, 65, served as a Giants coach from 1998-2021, including for three World Series victories. He had since been acting as a special assistant for the organization but became the interim third base coach for San Francisco after the reassignment of Hector Borg in late May.
As for Porter, 48, he has been an MLB umpire since the 2010 season. Giants fans might find it quite satisfying though to watch this old clip of Porter getting hit in the nuts while behind the plate.
