Giants handing out golden urinal trophy to reward hydration
The San Francisco Giants are emphasizing hydration as part of a new approach this season, and they have decided to turn it into a fun game that even includes an amusing trophy.
The San Jose Mercury News’ Daniel Brown wrote about the Giants’ new approach to sports science in a story published on Wednesday, and he says that the most hydrated player for each series gets the golden urinal trophy.

That’s pretty awesome.
There is no guarantee that being incredibly well hydrated will translate into more wins on the field, but you can’t blame the Giants for at least trying to encourage their players to be healthy. And this symbol is certainly much better than another item one of their players used to enhance performance.
