Giants OF nailed in head while taking batting practice
San Francisco Giants outfielder Jorge Soler cannot catch a break.
Soler was taking batting practice on Tuesday at Oracle Park prior to the Giants’ home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The outfielder has been on the injured list since May 5 and was getting in some hitting work ahead of his possible return.
However, things went sideways when a ball Soler popped up bounced off the top of the batting cage netting and nailed Soler in the head.

Soler went down after being hit and then exited the batting cage. It’s unclear if he was seriously hurt or more just shocked over what had happened.
Soler is in his first season with the Giants. He’s batting .202 with 4 doubles and 5 home runs in 34 games. The 32-year-old is in the first season of a 3-year, $42 million deal. Soler slugged 36 home runs for the Marlins last season and made his first All-Star team.
