Hanley Ramirez shockingly was released this season and never returned, though that may not be the end of his career.
Ramirez is planning an MLB comeback for next season, according to Fancred Sports’ Jon Heyman. Heyman says that Ramirez has been working out in the Dominican Republic.

Ramirez began the season hot but was released by the Boston Red Sox after 44 games. The 34-year-old batted .254/.313/.395, hitting seven doubles and six home runs with a .708 OPS. His defensive limitations may restrict him to AL teams as a potential DH. Ramirez was also supposedly linked to an investigation that turned out to be dismissed as “reckless” and untrue.
