Life comes at you fast, as Homer Bailey learned on Sunday.
The veteran righty was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Oakland A’s, and the timing of it turned out to be pretty interesting. Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Bailey was actually scheduled to pitch for the Royals and was warming up in the bullpen when he was traded.
One more note on new #Athletics pitcher Homer Bailey: He was scheduled to pitch today for Royals (actually was warming up in bullpen when trade was finalized). So he could potentially pitch for A's on Tuesday or Wednesday vs. Seattle

The 33-year-old Bailey, who is 7-6 this season with a 4.80 ERA, will now help bolster Oakland’s rotation as they look to overtake the Cleveland Indians for the second American League Wild Card spot.
At least Bailey can be thankful that he did not have to be pulled from the field mid-inning after being traded like this fellow MLB player once was.
