Ichiro now throwing batting practice as part of duties for Mariners

Ichiro Suzuki continues to wear many hats for the Seattle Mariners in his semi-retirement.

Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reported on Sunday that the Mariners great, who left the active roster in the middle of the season to join the front office, will now be throwing early batting practice as part of his duties for the team.

Ichiro, 44, transitioned into a role as special assistant to the chairman in May but has since taken on other tasks for the Mariners as well, including serving as an active bench coach for a couple of recent games while manager Scott Servais was away. As for his new job of tossing batting practice, it should suit him well since it has actually been proven that he has a pretty mean slider.
