Report: Indians focused on different pursuit than Manny Machado
The Cleveland Indians have talked about acquiring Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles, but it reportedly isn’t their highest priority.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Indians have spoken to the Orioles about Machado, but their focus is on getting help for their depleted bullpen, potentially from the Miami Marlins.
While #Indians have discussed Manny Machado with #Orioles, their primary focus is addressing the bullpen. #Marlins among their potential trading partners on relievers. @MLBNetwork @MLB

The Indians got a stark reminder that their bullpen needs a lot of help after giving up seven runs in the ninth to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night, even if that meltdown was somewhat aided by a miscommunication. Cleveland already has both Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez on their infield. Machado is a luxury, not a necessity, unlike bullpen help.
