Jacoby Ellsbury has yet to resume baseball activities
New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury is still under contract, and the team might actually be able to use him if healthy given their injury problems. Unfortunately for them, he isn’t.
Ellsbury, who missed all of 2018 with hip and foot issues, is still looking to get back on the field. According to manager Aaron Boone, however, his rehab has run into issues that have prevented him from resuming baseball activities.

At least one team actually briefly considered an offseason run at Ellsbury, but he hasn’t played since 2017 and there’s just no clear idea when he will again. It’s just not worth relying on him for any contributions at this point.
