Jasson Dominguez might still be two years away from being two years away.
The New York Yankees outfielder Dominguez had a very embarrassing moment on Sunday against the San Diego Padres. Dominguez was stationed in right field for the game at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif.
In the second inning, Padres outfielder Dustin Harris lofted a soft (and completely routine) base hit to Dominguez in right. While the ball had all the makings of a Little League play, Dominguez went on to … completely boot it.
Dominguez misplayed the ball, which glanced off the bottom of his glove and trickled all the way to the wall. That allowed Harris to take two extra bases and end up at third off a single and E9.
Here is the humiliating video (featuring Dominguez’s shades also falling off to add insult to injury).
It absolutely pains me to say but Jasson Dominguez is one of the most brutal outfield defenders I’ve ever watched pic.twitter.com/KI3jFe0vBL

Dominguez, 23, has been a volatile young player for the Yankees, providing upside with his raw power and speed but struggling in the finer areas of the game, such as with his fundamentals defensively. The switch-hitter has also been prone to other lapses in judgment since making his MLB debut, and he had another one on Sunday as New York went on to lose to San Diego by a final score of 4-3.
