New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was fuming mad after getting tossed from Thursday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Fla.

With the Yankees up 6-3 in the top of the 7th, Chisholm was at the plate with a man on first and one out. The Yankees slugger worked a full count against Rays reliever Mason Montgomery. The lefty threw a pitch well below the zone that home plate umpire John Bacon somehow called strike three. You be the judge.

The strike may have been a make-up call, given that Bacon’s called ball three appeared to be in the zone. Chisholm, who was already heading toward first base, gave Bacon an earful. Chisholm barked at Bacon for a good 15 seconds before the Yankees star was tossed from the ballgame.

Jazz was critical of the call online before the game had even ended. He fired a profane four-word message from the clubhouse in a now-deleted social media post.

“Not even f—ing close!!!!!” wrote Chisholm on X.

It’s been a frustrating year for Chisholm at the plate this season. He entered Thursday’s contest with a .176 batting average across 18 games. Chisholm went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Yankees’ 6-3 win.

The All-Star infielder has never been afraid to air his grievances on social media. His recent message to critics about the Yankees’ torpedo bats is proof of that.
