Watch: Jean Segura takes advantage of error with tie-breaking home run
Jean Segura took advantage of an error in the All-Star Game to deliver a big blow.
The Seattle Mariners shortstop was facing Milwaukee Brewers reliever Josh Hader in the top of the eighth inning and hit a foul pop up towards the first base dugout. Joey Votto went over to try and make the play, but he was unable to haul it in, giving Segura a second life. He knew just what to do with it and smacked a 3-run home run to break a 2-2 tie.

That was Segura’s first at-bat of the game, so he really made it count. He also was the winner of the Final Vote and certainly made all those who voted him in very proud.
Oh, and he also set a Mariners All-Star Game record:
Jean Segura’s 3 RBI are the most by a #Mariners player in a single #AllStarGame. He surpasses the previous record of 2, done twice by Ichiro Suzuki (2005 and 2007) and once by Ken Griffey Jr. (1992).
