Joe Girardi firmly denies Red Sox’s accusation against Yankees
A footnote to the New York Yankees’ explosive sign stealing accusations against the Boston Red Sox is that the Sox have filed a complaint accusing the Yankees of the same behavior. Yankees manager Joe Girardi says that’s a bunch of hooey.
Girardi on Tuesday responded to Boston’s complaint that the Yankees used television equipment to steal signs. He gave a firm denial.
Joe Girardi said that there was "no chance" the Yankees used a TV camera to steal signs. "I'm just saying, no, we're not doing that."

The Red Sox likely filed the complaint just to be a pest to the Yankees and league office in an attempt to show they’re not the only ones stealing signs — and potentially using electronic means to do so.
There is no rule in MLB against stealing signs, though using electronic communication as part sign stealing is problematic and could lead to discipline for Boston.
